Oslo Balboa Weekend 2025
Four nights of live jazz & social dancing
Taster classes Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Inspiring classes in balboa and slow balboa Saturday and Sunday
Separate slow balboa floor with live jazz!
From Thursday to Sunday, enjoy unforgettable nights of live music featuring The Big Five from Berlin and Oslo’s own David Skinner, plus top DJs keeping the energy high.
All classes and all parties take place in one beautiful venue—Sentralen—so you can fully immerse yourself in the weekend.
With eight international instructors, you’ll get six hours of carefully designed classes in the balboa track. In the slow bal track and mixed fast/slow track you get 4 hours, balancing learning and social dancing so you can dance late and still soak up inspiration in class.
In addition to this we also have four taster class instructors!
Join us for a weekend of fantastic music, great company, and pure balboa joy!
Organization
Oslo Balboa Weekend is part of Bårdar Swing Club. Bårdar swing club is a dance club in Oslo, Norway, founded in 2002 when two swing clubs joined forces, and has roots at least back to 1994.
The club is a non-profit organization based mainly on volunteer work and is run by a board elected by the members. We had around 450 registered members last year. The club holds classes and social dances in several different styles of swing dance, primarily lindy hop, balboa, boogie woogie, shag, slow balboa and blues.
We aim for an inclusive and open scene with relatively low costs to the members and most of our social activities are open for non-members as well.
The club also host several dance festival throughout the year. Oslo Balboa Weekend is the second biggest of these festivals. It was held for the first time in 2013, and has been held every year since except during the covid pandemic
This year’s festival is run by Esther, Ragnhild and Christian.
